This study analyses the discipline concerning the minister of confirmation in the two traditions of the Catholic Church, examining the sources, opinions of theologians and canonists. Spiritus Sancti munera, crowns the efforts of the Holy See to provide faculty to priests, which Vatican Council II underlines in its liturgical reforms and in the decree OE. The formation of the canons respected and renewed the two traditions, while the commentary highlights their differences. The conclusions propose ways of improving the discipline in order to provide for a more efficacious ministry of this sacrament.
